November 20th is the “UNIVERSAL CHILDREN’S DAY”, which marks the commemoration of the convention of the Rights of the Child. The education is not only a right in itself, but also an enabler of all other human rights.
In world, 121,000,000 (121 million) children are out of school, 25,000,000 (25 million) are expected never to enter a class room and 50 percent live in countries affected by conflict. Furthermore, 250,000,000 (250 million) children either do not make it to grade four or do not have basic skills in writing, reading by the time they reach grade four.
We will not achieve our vision of a more successful, prosperous, healthier, equitable world if so many children are denied a chance to learn the skills they need to chart their own path and live up to their full prospective.
